Quercetin belongs to a class of water-soluble plant pigments called flavonoids. Quercetin is a powerful anti-oxidant. It is also a natural anti-histamine and anti-inflammotary. Quercetin may help to prevent cancer, especially prostate cancer. Quercetin`s anti-histamine action may help to relieve allergic symptoms and asthma symptoms. The anti-inflammatory properties may help to reduce pain from disorders such as asthritis. Quercetin may also help reduce symptoms like fatigue, depression and anxiety. Quercetin can significantly decrease the accumulation of "sorbitol" in the lens of diabetic animals, effectively delaying the onset of cataracts.
Quercetin can be found in onions, apples, green tea and black tea. We have extracted Quercetin from black tea. Smaller amounts are found in leafy green vegetables and beans.
